Betsy Douberley's TEAM IN TRAINING Pledge Page
A marathon is really a metaphor for life...it has obstacles, hills, valleys, times when you feel like giving up and times of pure joy.
This year, in an effort to improve the quality of life for those with leukemia, as well as myself, I will be walking/running a marathon in June. As part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, I will be part of a team of runners and walkers on a journey of strength and hope. Joining me on this journey will be Mark Daugherty, my special partner and inspiration. Mark is a nine-year-old "Honorary Coach" from Ocoee, FL with acute lymphocytic leukemia. Mark and I have begun our journey already; the only thing we need to reach the finish line is your financial support--I know that you will be there in spirit as I cross! My goal is to raise $5000 for leukemia research and patient aid. I am much in need of positive thoughts and prayers during my training, and also every penny, nickel and hundred dollar bill you can spare! Every donation (however large or small) will help to fight for a cure. If you are able to donate at this time, please hit the donate button on the left side of this page, print out the page, and mail it to me. All contributions are of course 100% tax deductible. If you have family or friends who have leukemia or other forms of cancer and would like them to be honored on this site, please let me know. I will pray for each and every one of them as I complete my daily walks and runs. Please browse the site and stay tuned during this most exciting adventure. If you have any questions regarding the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training Program, please feel free to call or email me at any time. Thank you for your support:) Betsy Douberley betsydouberley@netscape.net |
